I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus Sedan and I want a remote starter. I'm not sure what I stipulation to look out for. I've seen remote starters that hold alarms and keyless entry systems but I have these already and don't want to correct them. I am open to adjectives helpful solutions and suggestions.
Answers: you can gain an add on section that works off your existing remotes.
My suggestion would be code alarm or design tech as these seam to be the most reliable & durabile unit.
The only draw support by installing an add on is that you are controlled to the factory range.
Other than that your other choice would be install a unit that does everything.
Get one that will replace your antediluvian remotes as well! Its a strain carrying two remotes. By that means, enjoy a professional install it. If this is your first install, your looking at 4-5 hours and a few trips to the auto parts store. I ended up have to add relays, run wires to my tach sensor, the hood sensor, and if I required the doors to operate on the remote i had to run directly to the door locks (the ones surrounded by the door itself).
If you decide to do it yourself, build sure you have transportation to the auto parts store, plenty of time, and a cold beer. On the bright side you will revise how to hotwire a car.
Oh yes, an extra thing. Companies enjoy modules that will connect to your computer scan port to control the door locks and car alarm etc, after connect to the main remote start system. I would enjoy had to buy it seperate so I freshly ran the wires since I didnt want to lurk a few days to ship before I could button my vehicle back up. I would look into anything that can utilize your PCM/ECM and slim down the amount of wiring.
