Answers: I have a Vue. It's an '04, near the 4 cylinder and a 5-sp. manual nouns. We like it.
4 or 6 cylinder? We considered necessary the manual, so it be the 4 cylinder and 2-W drive. Gas mileage approaches 30 m.p.g. in commonplace, day-to-day driving, but it goes down as you shift over 60 m.p.h. The top gear is low enough to fetch you along, but it's too low to run efficiently at soaring speeds.
2 wheel drive hasn't be an issue yet, but we're one and only in December. The vehicle handle nicely; feel a lot more stable than the SL1 we enjoy. I figure beside decent tires, the highly developed ground clearance, and common sense (knowing the vehicle's limitations when it comes to snow), we'll be adjectives right in the winter.
We thought in the region of a Ford Escape; Vue is roomier.
Buy one! Mine is an o4 and no issues. But stay away from the 4 cylinder, you'll find it is not enough vehicle. You are better off spending a moment or two extra and get the AWD 6 cylinder.
I enjoy the 6 AWD.
