$200 from insurance company, cost more than 700 to fix!!?

My best friend was contained by a car coincidence a little over a week ago. He be driving to work early within the morning, slid on ice, and almost go off the road. A can come up from behind him, couldn't stop and hit him, pushing him into a ditch. The man get out of his car, apologized, said he tried to stop. The officer come along, asked if he had any injuries and if he think there is wreckage to the front of the car. He next called a wrecker, to hold him pulled out of the ditch ($75). The officer determined that noone was at breakdown, the accident be due to bad weather.

We obtain a copy of the police report, and it states that he was within the ditch before the vehicle rear concluded him! The officer must have be going by what the other guy said, as he did not get asked his side.

The other guys insurance is presently refusing to discharge for the front end interrupt, only for the flipside bumper. They gave a check for $200, when the lowest estimate he get was more than 700!

Does this nouns right to anyone?

How much will insurance be for the...

Answers:    OK, first of all, police donate an OPINION, they do NOT determine fault.

Think give or take a few it. If he was surrounded by a ditch , and the other car wasn't surrounded by a ditch, how did the other car hit his bumper? Doesn't manufacture sense. OBVIOUSLY the other car pushed him into the ditch.

Lost wages - that isn't going to work. You're solitary entitled to lost wages when you CAN'T work. Time you take to turn to the hospital and sit around in the waiting room, is NOT compensable. In some states, you other have to claim your lost wages underneath your OWN policy. So we don't know if you're in one of those states. Ask your agent.

Anyway. Ask the other adjuster how the other saloon got into the ditch, hit the bumper, and get out again. Then ask for the full damage estimate amount, plus a rental sports car. And if they still refuse, you'll enjoy to either put the claim through YOUR insurance, and take-home pay your collision deductible, and let THEM chase it down, or sue the other guy contained by small claims court. Where they can explain to the judge, how they hit the bumper, after got out of the ditch.
