What I like more or less my job: I individually LOVE the legal aspects of the available job, determining liability, arguing case regulation to support my findings, researching the law, and I LOVE audible range all the crazy stories almost how an accident happen. I've had domestic violent behaviour auto claims, road rage, carjackings...some really unnatural stuff that goes beyond your routine flipside ender. For me, the more complicated the facts are the more I enjoy it....one claim literally can keep hold of you busy for 8 hours over the course of 5 days straight.
What I dislike about the post: stupid people, shady lawyer, fraudulent claims (but this can be fun too to watch it unravel right since your eyes), people who veto to use their common sense, and the incessant phone call from the stupid people and those who refuse permission for to use their common sense--screaming and yell at you like YOU are the one who 'did this to them,' and I can't forget the general public who think they can DEMAND their process into getting what they want, whether they are legally entitled to it or not. I also despise fatalities and dealing with the families--it take an emotional toll on me. Not lone do I not know what to say to these family other than 'I'm sorry,' it's a senseless annihilation. No crash is an accident--they are all preventable! They'll let somebody know you they are the innocent party, but unless they're the passenger--they're not innocent at adjectives. One of my favorite lines to tell ethnic group is "My job is not to trade name you understand what I'm recounting you; my job is to insist on you of the process, let you know what coverage(s) apply. I can't variety you understand anything--you any do or you don't." But at this point it's said to somone who has call me 20 times that week asking me the same press and giving them the same answer worded differently respectively time and the STILL don't get it (hence, stupid population and those without adjectives sense).
Pre-employment testing involves word problems, reading comprehension, math/logic problems to try-out your critical thinking skills--if you can't pass it you are out. Critical thinking skills are a MUST HAVE b/c you inevitability to be able to sort out the crap and be capable of apply the law to respectively claim appropriately. You also have to ratify a background check-fiduciary requirements prevent anyone convicted of a felony involving money to work contained by insurance.
It can be both a good and unpromising job.
Good - never boring. People find some massively creative ways to have accident. You get to back people. The benefits are worthy if you work for a large insurance company. You can earn pretty clad money after just a couple years of moral reviews.
Bad - EVERYBODY gets cracked at you policyholders, claimants, bosses, agents. You have to own thick skin and a sense of humor. If you work directly for an insurance company you will work lots of unpaid overtime since salaried ethnic group don't get rewarded for extra hours. And trust me you will need to work the extra hours. No insurance company I enjoy ever worked for has ever have enough adjusters.
If you work directly for an insurance company (Allstate, Nationwide, Geico etc) you don't inevitability to take a license test in the past starting the job.
If you work for an independent adjust company such as Crawford, Frontier etc in most states you must overrun a pre-licensing test earlier you can begin work. Those test are state based for traffic & liability law, policy language and that sensitive of stuff. You will need to study for them within order to ratify the state tests, they are not undemanding.
