I was pulled over for making an illegal U-turn within CA. I just moved to CA, so my car is registered here but I still have a NY driver's license with me when I was pulled over (I haven't have time to get a CA driver's license yet). I didn't have proof of registration, but I did own CA license plates and CA registration stickers. The officer gave me a ticket for the U-turn (obviously), but also a "no driver's license in possession" ticket and a "no proof of registration" ticket--and he down both as "not correctable." It seems strange to me that I got a ticket for not have a driver's license when I DID have a valid one in my possession (albeit from NY). Also, my saloon was clearly registered in CA at the time as I have the plates and stickers to prove it. Can I have those two tickets corrected or dismissed?
Certain insurance violations are not correctable or dismissible by the clerk of the court and require payment of full bail or court appearance.
Once you move to California, you own 10 days to exchange your license. After that, your out-of-state license is no longer valid. So you did not have a valid license. That is not correctable. Correctable would be if you left your license at home.
I presume you may want to try getting the proof of registration violation dismissed. Take your proof of registration and show it to the judge.
you would have to look up the california statute, but these are correctable violations within most states. if you have the registration, you can bring it to court and show the judge. as for the license, you can show your NY license, and prove that you havent be in california long enough to invalidate the NY license. that should receive you off the license and registration tickets, but the illegal U-turn is going to be a problem.

Answers: No, you already got the break. Basically what you received be the equivalent of "failure to produce", not driving unregistered or driving unlicenced. It is the law you enjoy the registration card in the vehicle. If you had time to verbs your registration you should have had time to verbs your licence.

Is this a virtuous saloon insurance quote?
