A few months ago I went to the DMV and paid my registration fees to bring my plates up to date and they told me I stipulation to have my car smogged, but adjectives the fees were paid for. As of such I never received the most recent sticker for my plate. Tonight I was pulled over and the officers asked me to find out of the car, wrote me a ticket for not having current registration AND towed my vehicle and afterwards made me walk home. I understand the ticket is lawful since I hadn't got the smog test but did they own the legal right to tow my car? I denote... the fees were paid for I a short time ago hadn't exactly smogged the car. I would have thought a simple fix-it ticket would enjoy been sufficient. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
the ticket and the towing were totally unneccesary. are you black? was the officer white? i'd sue!

If your tag are out of date, you'll get pulled over, no thing what color you are. I'm not saying that racism doesn't exist, but sheesh, some people see it somewhere they look.
My understanding is that if you can prove you've paid for it, but not received the stickers nonetheless, then it's OK. I think I remember reading that on the papers they sent once.
But within your case, you hadn't done the smog, so I don't know how that effects things. It's entirely possible that the cop knew that from looking you up on the computer terminal contained by his car.
Just take it and take it smogged, dude. It only takes almost 10 minutes.
Unless you're black and the smog test guy is white. Then they are instructed by the man to make you lurk 11 minutes.

Can you turn contained by the tag...
the DMV should enjoy given you a temporary registration if you were previous the due date at the time you paid your money and told them you hadn't smogged it yet. The opening it should have happened be, you go down there, remuneration the money, they tell you to get it smogged, you procure it smogged, you go back and show them the card, and then and only afterwards they give you the tag... until consequently, you are not legally registered without the smog pass. I think you waited too long, or you should own gone to the DMV when you realized you couldn't get it smogged surrounded by time, and asked for a temp registration tag.the ticket and the towing were totally unneccesary. are you black? was the officer white? i'd sue!
