Can you use one license contained by another state?

Say you live in Hawaii, and you return with your drivers license there, and consequently you visit California, can you still drive surrounded by Cali? Or do you have to go and get someone who has a cali License to drive you around?

Now, Say you move to Cali. Do you enjoy to retake the driving test to get hold of a cali driver's license? Or can you exchange your original one?

Stupid insurance request for information?

Answers:    You can drive surrounded by any state with a valid US drivers license (ie: a license from any state).

When you move, you enjoy to relinquish your current license and get a unknown one from the new state. Usually you will call for proof that you LIVE there: paystub next to address on it, utility bill, etc. You should NOT have to re-take the tryout.

Pulled over?

States recognize driver license from other states. So you can drive. But if you move to a different state you will have to rob that state's test for a unusual license.
