i was driving on the highway and this truck got on it and hit the right side of my sports car, then he ran. nobody hurt, lately the side of the car.
it was at dark, i didn't see the tag and i didn't chase the truck.
obviously i will own to go to my insurance for getting it fixed.
do i need a police report for that or newly call my insurance company?
Bit late for a police report don't you mull over? Unless you have collision, it won't be covered. It's a hit and run. Who is the insurance going to go to gain paid, since you have no information? Sorry, telephone your insurance company and ask. I doubt there is much they can do.
Answers: How long ago did this happen? Read what your policy say. Some companies may deny a "hit and run" accident if its not reported to the police w/in so many days/hours etc .
Check near your adjuster, ask them if a police report is required. if yes, the call the police!

Your insurance company should cover your vehicle so long as you have collision on it. Unfortunately you will have to salary your deductible. They probably won't require a police report. They will ask what happened and then they may ask why you didn't grasp one. Just tell them the truth. I am assuming you didn't call the police since you didn't take any info on the other driver anyway so what's the point, right? As the last poster said if they do require a police report just move about down to the station and file one at the counter. tell them what you a moment ago said here
they may require you to get one, so go to the police and get a desk report
