I had an misfortune in May 07 (hit and run). In Dec 07 a individual cuts me off coming out of a strip shopping arcade onto a one way street. I hit the pay for of her car. We both enjoy Allstate Insurance. Why do I have to settle up another $500 deductable? Should I have made a police report?

I am waiting to take my fresh...

Answers:    If your insurance company is paying for your damages afterwards you will be paying your deductible. If she was determined "at fault" and her insurance is paying you won't own to pay the deductible.

If you are wondering why you hold to pay two deductibles contained by one year it is probably because your deductible must be per incident rather than per year.

You said that you hit the stern of her car, not the side. Usually within those cases, they consider that you should have have enough time to stop so that you would be considered at condemn. Not always even-handed, but the way it is.

It's other a good impression to follow certain steps when within an accident so that you are not taken dominance of. Sometimes you are all shook up and don't ponder clearly, letting things slip that are important.

I hope you weren't hurt.

Car Insurance Question... PLEASE HELP!?

Yes you should hold made a police report. However, if you hit her vehicle squarely in the flipside, you would have be found at fault unless you have a witness that said she cut you off. Therefor, Allstate is charging you the deductible because they are aphorism you are at fault. Did you hit the corner of her motor or did she get adjectives the way within the lane before you hit her? If you hit the corner of her sports car, then you should state your shield with your insurance company. All surrounded by all, it is complex to get gratification when you have to traffic with your own insurance.
