I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who has purchased comprehensive motor insurance in Australia.
Please tell me almost any good/bad experiences with car insurance companies so i can resolve for myself which company to select.
Answers: there is literally hundreds of car insurance companies.
whether a company is "good" or "bad" surrounded by someone's opinion really depends on what that persons expectations of their insurance policy be, versus the actual reality of the fineprint and what they are covered for.
the biggest issue with those and their insurance policies is at claim time - when the person doesn't understand what they be covered for, or expects that they are covered for more than they have actully paid for, or they haven't read the fineprint - and this misunderstanding cause grief for all concerned.
do yourself a favour and settle on whats important to you - ie, is it the price?
is it how well the company is prearranged?
is it that you can choose your own repairer?
is that you can choose to insure your car for a certain amount, instead of open market value?
is it that you get a lower excess?
is it that anyone is covered while driving your coup¨¦?
is it that you get a free rental car when you hold a prang?
is it that you get a free windscreen replacement?
is it that you can walk into an bureau rather than speak to someone over the phone?
is it that you get free cover for contents inside your vehicle if it get broken into?
all these type of things can impact who you choose to go next to because not all companies offer adjectives of those features. and obviously something that is a 'must have' for one human being is not necessarily important to the next.
insurance is more or less what is suited to you and your circumstances. just because a policy didn't suit one person, doesn't show it won't suit you.
