Car insurance--rates hiked after file claim for hit & run?

do car insurance companies trudge your rates if you file a claim for someone else doing hit & run twist to you? I've heard stories of sports car insurance companies doing that--even if you had zilch to do with the violate.

I called my insurance company and they refuse to give me a strait answer. I be parked when this happened, so I didn't do *anything* to create the accident. (I own Allstate; liability only--with uninsured motorist--I don't have comprehensive.)

so...own you ever heard of CAR insurance rates hiked because someone file a claim in which they have NO fault surrounded by the accident at adjectives? (I know this happens for home insurance--but I'm solitary asking about CAR insurance here)

What is the minimum age to register...

Car insurance?

Anytime an insurance company pays out money, somebody is going to get a rate trudge. There may be mitigating factors approaching how long you have have the policy, multiple vehicles, multiple coverages(like auto, enthusiasm, home, boat, etc. through the same company)amount of claim, etc.
