Im 18, just passed my driving audition. My dad has have his licence since 1993 its valid, no criminal offence but also 0 claim bonus. We want to buy a sports car 1.4 peugeo 206 lx for lb2,000 but problem is the insurrance for myself is lb2700 on this car alone and beside my dad included its lb2400. This is 2 much. I then tried a nissan micra 1.0 and the insurrance is lb2400 for me alone.
I tried loads of a mixture of insurrance companies and various cars, they are super expensive, the insurance would be opinion if it was around 1500 ...
Im not sure, one of my mate has a VW golf 1.9tdi and he told me he pays 2200, hes using aa, when i put the information within for a 1.4 car i get a quote saying 3700 this is in recent times third party 2.
If merely my dad gets the insurrance and he pays lone for himself .. can i drive on his insurrance? i mean if i crash it would only count on his insurrance and so on ... im not one of those speed mad craving citizens .. anyways help :(
Answers: The individual problem with freshly having it insured lower than your dad's name is that the insurance asks if here is anyone else in the household or nearest and dearest who is of driving age and will price it according to the fact that your dad have a son- you!
If he were to not update the truth and you crashed or got hit next they would cancel his policy and not cover anything.
Unfortunately human being underage in the insurance world is merely a pain that have to be gone through.
You would be better off asking these question to your insurance broker. Anyone giving advice on insurance policies must be licensed to do so, and if they are not, they are misrepresenting themselves and their advocate should not be trusted. I worked in the insurance industry for 4 years, and trust me, within are very complex wordings and policy forms that must be properly couched by a broker in lay down to give you a clear answer. If you take advice from someone not qualified to do so, you may find yourself decline for a costly claim, possibly including bodily injury and personal liability.
