I moved to VA from WI a few months ago. I brought my car next to me. I tried to title the vehicle in VA so I don't hold any problems. I am still making loan payments on this car. I own gone to the DMV 3 times in the final month just to attain this sorted out. I got my motor registered in VA but when it come to the title everything seemed fine at the DMV but they sent me a memorandum 3 weeks later recounting me that the VA DMV issued me the title "Inadvertently". That they have a put a "STOP" on the vehicle dictation to prevent any further transactions. I never got a title contained by the mail from the WI DMV as far as I can remember. I be under the indication that the Credit Union from where I enjoy the loan had it. But they told me a month ago that the owner(me) have the title not them. Now VA dmv is asking for the title from WI that I don't have and I don't wanna travel back to WI to achieve the title. How can I get this resolved? It's a aching to have a vehicle in VA. Can't use it in need paying a fortune or wasting time.
Answers: The VA DMV notified you that the title be issued in your dub, without a legalized owner, in error. To stop the transaction, they put a "hold" or "stop" on the register, to prevent you or other's from titling the car within your name solitary, without a lienholder. Since you hold been notify of the problem, you simply contact the VA DMV, request the lienholder be placed back on the title, request the lienholder hold the "new" title issued with their lien, mail to the DMV in the state where on earth you reside. It will probably take a couple months to gain the paperwork in establish, and correct the record, your registration/licensing/insurance fees will follow, and later you'll be able to officially drive the car. If you never received the title, the story should show the address the title was sent to, imagined your former address, and it will also state that it was any received or returned to the DMV, as titles are not forwarded to a new address, they are sent to the second known address on narrative for the registered/legal owner.
