What makes a motor totalled after an accident within Maine. Is there state guidlines that the insurance company go by? Is it a percentage of the fair souk value? What rating do they use to determine the flea market value? Any backing on this would be appreciated.
My car be in an coincidence and I really want them to determine it is totaled, but i think the estimate is falling a short time ago shy of it's worth. ??
Answers: Each insurance company has it's own guideline. Usually it's when damages are 85% to 90% of the car's actual brass value.
There's a tiny bit of waggle room here . . . for example, if your car's ACV is $20,000 and you have $18,000 of mischief, they'll likely total it out. And if your vehicle is $500 acv, with a broken windshield, they might NOT total it out.
If it's close, you can other ask your agent to call the adjuster, and verbs in a favor. If it's CLOSE. If it's not close, it's not going to ensue.
We had a sports car totalled earlier this year. Our insurance adjuster explained how it works. A vehicle is determined to be "totalled" when it would cost more to fix the car than the car's resale appeal. Resale value is determined by checking what cars of impossible to tell apart model, year, and condition (pre-accident) are selling for in your nouns.
