It should be covered. the policy follows the vehicle, not the driver. but, the insurance company may subrogate against you as a responsible party. do you not have any type of insurance? any car, homeowners, anything like that? your vivacity is about to get comparatively complicated. i'm assuming your of a younger age and you might get lucky and they may not pursue you, but I think most companies would at lowest try. They could possibly even take you to court and they would be within their rights.
subrogation (by the way) is when the insurance company go after the responsible party for what they paid on the claim. so, no, you wouldn't own to pay for a new coup¨¦ for your friend but they may call on you to either pay packet for the cost to repair the vehicle or for the actual cash value of the vehicle. i would start discussion to some agents and see what options are available to you because this could hurt.

Answers:    well, first of adjectives.. lets hope they cover you. Depending on his policy language you may or may not be covered since you arent tabled on the policy.

if you are covered- they wont bill you. The owner of a vehicle is responsible for what happens in it- by letting you drive he took that risk. You may want to work out next to your friend paying his deductible or smoething... but you certainly dont legally owe anything.

and if his sports car is totalled (if its cheaper to replace then repair) they will pay actual change value of his car- what that car is selling for within the area. They wont by him a new sports car.. he will get money to buy a car thats similar to his.

By the way "uninsured motorist" coverage has zilch to do with this. "uninsured motorist" coverage covers your injuries IF you were hit by an uninsured driver... it have nothing to do with if someone uninsured drives your saloon.
