The relevant weights are:-
(a) a relevant plated counterbalance exceeding 16260 kilograms, or
(b) in the satchel of a vehicle which does not have a relevant plated bulk, an unladen weight exceeding 5080 kilograms.

That includes a trailer, if appropriate. And it applies to: a vehicle used for (a) for hire or reward, or
(b) for or within connection next to any trade or business carried on by the operator.

I believe that you with the sole purpose need an operator licence if the vehicle is used for hire and reward, as yours is not you may not need one but you may come beneath the hours rules regs and might have to use a tacho card ( you did not voice if one was fitted ).
But approaching the other guy said i would check with the DMV of late to be sure.
