Getting a up to date license?

I have a provisional drivers license from New Jersey which expires in 2010. By very soon I should have a regular full license for NJ, but I just never go. I currently live in TX, but I plan on moving out within this month and moving into GA beside my girlfriend. The problem is, I dont think I will be a resident of GA as I will not own a house in GA.

Would it still be possible to acquire a full GA license? I plan on living in GA for a long time, but I dont want to stop driving in two years when my NJ license expires.

Answers:    You don't own to own a house in order to prove residency.

My girlfriend in recent times did the same thing, when she moved from PA to GA. You own to prove that you now live in the state, which is as jammy as providing some credit card statements with your new address, and some paystubs from your work place.

However, seeing as you have a provisional license, you may be required to take the GA driver test. Or at lowest possible part of it. She didn't, as she had a full license, and you may not hold to, but I thought I might mention it, in case you do.

You should be fine. Just form sure you have all the paperwork you possibly can. Also, beckon the Department of Driver Services (GA DMV), and verify what you need to have beside you, when you go in.
