Im 21, and a student in college. Im trying to take my drivers liscense but in the state of NC you must hold a valid insurance policy. Nobody including my family is prepared to add me on to their insurace policy so that I may grasp my liscense. Is there anyway to receive my drivers liscense on my own, because my permit is getting organized to expire.
Answers: You can go buy a "name non-owner" policy. It's cheap, under $200 a year. That give you liability coverage for any car you drive, EXCEPT a vehicle belonging to a household member. You'd enjoy to be listed on their policy to drive one of their cars.
Whatever your legitimate residence is . . .if anyone else in that residence have a policy, you're going ot have a rugged time buying a named nonowned policy, because you DO hold to be listed as a household hand on their policies.
