I plan to put my car up for public sale in NC and park it. Can I turn the tag in so I won't hold to pay due on it, but still keep the insurance on it within case anything happen? Thanks!
Answers: Yes you can. Notice when you buy insurance all they want is the VIN. I doesn't matter if you own plates on it or not. You do have to own insurance to get you plates though. I live contained by NC. It would be stupid if you have a coup¨¦ valued at say 4k and can't insure it weather it's registered or not. You can't parked on the street though short tags.
