My dad just crashed the truck. He fliped over geting out of the freeway and in a minute the truck is damajed.
The problem is that after waiting for a long time no police or highway patrol showed up. Will the insurance cover even dough there be no police report? And the accident be individual, no other car be involved and he didnt hit nothing else.
(He have farmers insurance)
Whether this is covered depends on the type of insurance. It is probably covered under comprehensive, which not everyone carry; it is probably not covered under collision or liability.
They should. Although, the cops may be another story. I guarantee he cause SOME SORT of property damage at the scene to land/property that wasnt his... this is call leaving the scene of an quirk and is against the law.
But yes, insurance should be fine. atleast at both companies ive worked for. Why doesnt he purely call and wallet a report from home now so he doesnt own to worry in the region of insurance or getting in trouble next to the police?
Answers: As long as your Dad has Collision coverage on his truck, he will be fine. A police report is NOT needed and the insurance company have a duty to the insured to pay for damages to his truck.
A LOT of times, the police will not even show up to a one motor accident unless someone is seriously injured. This could be due to a man-power shortage, or other reason. If more than one car is involved, it help to have a police report so ther is an un-biased witness available and to own details of all party involved but even THEN a police report is NOT required to get your claim salaried.
Was he injured? If he was hurt surrounded by any way, he might own Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection coverage on his policy that will take protection of his medical bills.
Just call your Farmer's agent and they will profile a claim with the company, assign an appraiser to come out and bring pictures of damages and make arrangements to enjoy the truck repaired.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
