I've recently have my license suspended by NJ DMV for 7 months, and I want to consider handing surrounded by my plates and registration for this period, because apparently NJ ruling states that an owned vehicle has to be insured regardless of whether its one driven. at this juncture, i cannot afford to pay the rates. but i've be told that if i stay uninsured during this period, that i would find it especially hard to find an insurance agent once my license is restored. is this true? is it worth taking a risk in the order of? can't i just progress about paying my insurance surcharges once i start driving again?

Don't ever go beside what someone says; achieve professional advice so you don't termination up in lock up because of false information.
As to taking a risk, it is NEVER ok to break a law and hold a risk. You could end up paying more than what you are trying to reclaim and may even end up contained by jail.
When my son lost his license due to DUI, he be not able to drive for 3 years. He rode a bike, or I took him when he have to go further into work. It be an inconvenience, but jail isn't a resort. Don't ever try to bend the law. That is what we have police officer for....to catch you.
Good luck. The 7 months will step fast. Think of better things to do next to your time and you will do fine. Learn from this, don't try to get away from it.
