I will move about with Taffy on this one.My policy clearly states any other private CAR, not any other vehicle.I would chew over most insurance companies will class a van as a commercial vehicle and not a private car.You will have to contact your insurers and see what they read aloud, but i wouldn't hold out much hope.Sorry.

Think it is what is known as an absolute resentment. In other words you do not have a defence solely mitigating circumstances. If you or your Dad didn't own car insurance at all, its immoral. But of you drive your Dad's insured van its third party insurance which is legal.

Fully comp insurance on a saloon won't cover a van - a commercial vehicle.

Addition:
You were breaking the law and deserve to touch the full weight of the law. I be hit by an uninsured driver like you and had to wages lb300 out of my pocket to repair the car. I hope you are banned for vivacity.
Did your Dad give you permission, if he did afterwards he should be banned. If he didn't then you TWOC'ed it.
You are one and only covered if your dad is fully comp as well and there are no restriction on policy! If you be in motion to court you get between 4/6 points on license and a fine of I believe up to lb1000 but normally lb200. Normally they steal the car there and next and crush it so in a way you get off lightly! There is no channel of getting out of it you should of phoned or your dad the insurance company to check it only takes 5 mins and they can arrange cover inwardly minutes. Sorry to sound heartless as is not even-handed but you should always check as I know if you crashed into my car near no insurance I would of not been happy!

Got hit by sports car,What's subsequent?

The insurance on your car should provide Road Traffic Act liability insurance when you're driving another vehicle near the owner's permission. Check your insurance certificate. If you're not covered, a dutiful defence would be to claim that you had every purpose to believe that you were since that's a feature of comprehensive insurance.

Who's denounce is this?

i agree with Gary.

Answers:    Would hold thought that your own comp insurance will allow you to drive another vehicle, with the owners permission, but merely on third party. Check you policy.

Ohio Car Insurance?

I would envisage they could have your dad as well for letting you drive his van in need checking you have insurance.
You will get a minium of 6 points and a fine.

Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the ruling. Saying you thought you were insured wont cut it either. But you can use it as your plee, and may lend a hand to give you a lesser fine.

no getting out of it!! youve broke the ruling and now will be punished!! you will get a strapping fine and be banned from driving and have cost points on your license!! you should have transfered your insurance over to your dads van before driving!! your subsequent insurance quote will be scary

Does cost of repair affect how much...

The same thing happened to my boyfiend as he be in his first two years of driving he had a choice:

Have 6 points and looses his liesons or

Have a 6 month embargo..

If you have been driving more than 2 years you will hold 6 points and not be band. and a fine..( 12 points then your band).

I know this sucks unsuccessfully. My car just go in the garage and i used someone elses car my insureance added the saloon to my policy cost me an extra lb75 for a month.

If you have fully comp insurance and it have no restrictions on it for driving a second car, you should be OK. However I know that several insurance companies are now asking population to pay or declare at hand intent to drive other vehicles on there insurance.
My proposal would be to contact your insurance company direct and ask them if you are covered.
Ja.

Which do you deliberate is the cheapest...

your car insurance simply covers you in other cars not vans as these are classed as commercial vechiles now does your dad hold insurance for any driver on his van i? or if it is for over 25 s only look at his policy does it state over 25? if not you can produse it no question i was stopped by police in my girlfriends estate saloon it was not insured for me i drive a lorry and asked my employer for the insurance for it i produced it to the police station the officer asked if the estate car be a commercial vechile? i said it was my employers and i be a named driver on his policy he acceped this... but i might be dodgy anyways

Check next to your dad if he has insurance for you to drive the van.

If you don't have insurance next you will get an IN10 (Driving with out insurance) put on your licence for starters what else they do depends on the court.
