A friend of mine a few years back purchased a used car from an owner. The prior owner lost the pink slip but give my friend a bill of sale. My friend has since lost the bill of public sale he received and my boyfriend and I have inherited the coup¨¦. I'm trying to give the car to my brother but minus a bill of sale, I keep getting the run-around at the DMV. One suggestion from the DMV be to contact all previous owners to get a pink slip but they won't release the information on the previous owners. Another suggestion be to lien it but for whatever reason that wasn't possible next to the DMV. And another suggestion still: to get an insurance bond on the car... and not even a clue on how to do that. I could use any proposal that anyone has... !

Answers: The only previous owner would be the one who started this mess a few years rear. Get his name and try again. Since he was the concluding one to register the car, DMV should have the info. If not , consequently that person lied about even owning the coup¨¦. I'd walk away from the whole mess since you own no money involved. Good Luck!
