i have just now passed my driving test
but partner who have been driving for over 20 years say that i am doing certain things wrong
1. he say that i have to put menace lights on
when backing out of my drive on to the basic road
2. when i am going straight from a traffic light and i am positioned on the moved out side of a 2 lane road
and i pull out but nearby are cars parked on my side and the road narrows into 1 lane
do i enjoy to signal right for the drivers behind me?
these 2 question are the ones we had an arguement roughly
but i am sure there will be others as he is critical of everything i do, until next can u please let me know if he is right or am i right because these be not taught to me by my instructor.

Any time you are changing lane you should signal your intentions as a courtesy to those following, yes. But since the road is going into one lane those following will already know you are merging right, and there is no decree that says you HAVE to do it.
