over xmas break i was pulled over under the "move over law". i have never heard of this law and be very shocked when i received a $250 ticket (plus court costs) for it. i slowed down but appearently this isnt good satisfactory because there werent other cars around to stop me from getting over. my question is this: does anyone know "how bad" this is on insurance (the equavilent charge)? i dont own any points on my license so hoping it wont be too bad. that being said, should i only just call the insurance and ask? would it be worth fighting the charge? any advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated! gratefulness!!
Answers: More than likely the $250 fine plus about $100 within court costs will be the extent of the damage. The rest will depend on your particular insurance company, they reserve the right to angle your rates for such an offense. If they do, and it's too much to bear, then I'd nickname around for new quotes until you find a better one.
