My fiance is buying a car for me but right immediately he's oversea's in a warship so we're doing everything through emails and scan. So he wants to create sure my names on the registration too so is it possible to receive both of our names on the registration? I dont wanna phone up the DMV and be put on hold for 2 hours if I can get the answer on here.
Answers: If your term is on the title, it will be on the registration. The name on the title will own to be the same as on the insurance, and registration.
If the coup¨¦ is ONLY in his pet name, your name won't be on the registration, and the policy will own to be in his signature, as well.
Regarding the loan - you can enjoy extra people on the loan, but the lender isn't going to tolerate anyone NOT on the loan, have their entitle on the title or registration.
So your name will hold to be added to the loan.
the REAL way to do this, would be for YOU to buy the vehicle, and him to cosign the loan. That way, adjectives the paperwork is in YOUR designation, he's just responsible for paying for the coup¨¦.
BTW, I never, ever, ever recommend two people who are not married to buy property together. It usually ends up a really sticky financial mess.
if he's financing the vehicle it might be hard to carry it in your moniker. the mortgage company will want to put it in the first name of the person who's making the payments. if it's individual purchased outright (not being financed) after it's not a problem at all. freshly tell the ticket agency the name on the title and provide proof of insurance-same on the insurance. it's contained by your name near both of you as designated drivers (you are the primary driver) you can still get the sports car registered in your mark, even if it's being financed, but the loan will be contained by his name. until it's salaried for the loan company is the legal owner of the vehicle.
