Rental vehicle company claiming i cause impairment...I didnt...what can i do?

K, so I've rented thru Enterprise dozens of time before. The finishing time I rented the car, I dropped it bad at a "drop box" location (you know when u park the car within their lot and put the keys contained by their drop box) ~BIG MISTAKE!!! Next couple of days, i get a note stating the TRUNK has a dent on it...cross my heart...I didnt do it!! What sucks is that their charging me $400+ to fix it...and they say-so I am responsible for the car until the subsequent morning...understandable, but i cant convince myself this is "fair"!! I enjoy to pay for bring down that I didnt do...is there ANYTHING I can do??!?!?

How hoary do you hold to be...

Answers:    First, I would ask Enterprise if they hold any cameras in the parking lot. If yes, recount them to review the tape to see if they can see who really cause the damages.
If not, sorry but you are SOL. If you purchased their damage waiver next you wouldn't have to repair their motor. If you didn't, just settle up for it out of pocket. No sense in claiming on your own insurance if its just $400 bc thats most likely beneath your $500 deductible.

(For Oklahomans) Anyone done the Virtual Drive...

Contact your insurance company and file a claim. Since the vehicle be not offically 'returned' until the next daytime the damage will probably be covered lower than your own policy. All deductibles will still apply, though.
