Traffic Accident 1 year ago and im getting sued?

I had a traffic coincidence on October 13, 2006. I was aid up and i hit a garbage truck (not the huge ones but pretty strong). The guy didn't move and considered necessary an ambulance(fake ***). The cops came i give my information and everything and that was that. Today i receive a communication stating that the guy is suing me for $25,000 for hospital bills, days out of work, and pain and suffering. I be also told that i might do 1 to 10 years in put inside for this. Now i am a reasonable man but this guy be just full of bull. So spinal column to what happened today. The common sense i am being sued is because his insurance company wont cover any of the costs mentioned . I contacted my insurance company and they said they would backing me out with the advocate and everything. My question is, What are my likelihood of winning surrounded by this type of situation? Pre-Thank you to the people who respond.

Answers:    I don't construe why you would go to detention centre if you reported the aciident. What are the police claiming you did? The man suing you can't get you into detain. Did the man go to the hospital or did he freshly go home? If he go to the hospital then they would own a report about his injuries cause by the accident. I feel you should get a dutiful lawyer A.S.A.P. I dream up you have a well-mannered case if you can prove what you are adage. After all he be in a litter truck what were you driving? Was your vehicle damaged? Was the debris truck damaged? I wouldn't verbs too much, why did he wait a year until that time suing?

Statute of limitations is usually a year - but your insurance company can tell you this. Also, your auto insurance policy's liability will cover up to your rein in. So it depends on what your policy's limit is - if you hold 15/30 insurance, for example, then your max reimbursement is just $15,000. Hopefully you have at least possible $25,000 per person liability coverage. That's what the guy suing you is hoping for. Anyway, I decision you the best of luck - unfortunately, the regulation is not on your side in this baggage. That's what auto insurance is for.
