I am a trucker and have be driving since last 3 years ,but use to run contained by team ,very soon i started running single.i do dedicated runs surrounded by auto parts.But when i have to budge to a new place i am worried ,although i have directions, but i dont know when i hold to go from house dark before i cannot sleep ,my body starts shaking and i craft mistakes which even a learner does not makes.But i am competent to find the places even then i am other worried. pl help
Answers: Are you terrified or excited? I am a trucker too and suffered from the same problem. However, my removal of sleep was not due to me man scared it be that I was excited to go and get going. However, once I was going ahead, the excitement wore off and it be back to work.
Also here may be a fear of latest places where you are unsure of. Things close to low bridges, wrong turns and tight turnarounds are always worrisome. A honourable example is a place like downtown Edmonton where on earth there are masses low bridges. You need to know your truck routes within or you can be in trouble from the low bridges. I hold had to rear up a couple of times on a busy road in lay down to turn around and it isn't fun.
If there is something that you are unsure of consequently you need to ask other drivers. You can phone ahead and ask the beneficiary if there is a special route that drivers lift. You can also get a CB and turn it to Channel 19 anywhere surrounded by Canada and you will be able to have a chat to other truck drivers. If you come out to BC the channel change to 1 West of Kamloops, but everywhere else in North America it is trench 19. Anyways, every day and every confinement is a learning curve. We adjectives make mistakes and to be precise what makes the mission fun, challenging, and rewarding. Hope this help.
