Does anyone know why this is, i think we are the lone country to have different coloured plates between front and wager on?
Answers: I too remember the introduction of these and if I remember rightly the reason for a wan plate at the rear but white at the front be that it is illegal to show a white neutral to the rear at darkness, and that this law includes reflectors surrounded by its definition of what constitutes a light. This be before the days of reversing lights, for which the regulation was amended so that if you are reversing you can show a white table lamp in conjunction next to a red light..
Also Yellow & Black are the boldest contrast you can procure and thus enables them to be read at the greatest distance.
I estimate it might be to do with the speed cameras or something approaching they can only rob one side. Sorry I wasnt much help. :(
