About a week ago a lady hit my mirror off and I file through her insurance company. I was about to move about get it fixed when I hit an icy patch and flew off the road and bang up my car pretty bad. Now I'm going to hold to file a claim through my insurance company. I'm thinking about a short time ago taking the check her insurance wrote me adding the broken mirror to my claim. Will my insurance know or find out it was file in a separate claim?
Answers: Yes, that is insurance fraud. You are still entitled to restore your health for the damaged mirror from the first accident. Insurance companies exploit licensed appraisers. They will be able to determine that the broken mirror was from a prior loss. The more your insurance company pays out, the highly developed your rates will be. Why would you want to be deceitful?
