I have Michigan insurance and I was driving surrounded by NYC. I unknowingly parked in a "no parking" zone and received a ticket. When I registered for my insurance, I claimed that I will not be using the car too frequently - smaller amount than 10,000 miles a year. Will my insurance company find out about my parking violation within NYC and make a big deal give or take a few it?
probably not ... it wasn't a moving violation.
Answers: Parking tickets do not show up on your motor vehicle report (MVR) so the insurance will not find out about it. I have NEVER see a parking ticket on an MVR.
But, make sure you pay it by the time it is due, because, if you do not payment it, your license can become suspended (they will go after the registered vehicle owner - if you are not that person, it will not affect YOU but the owner of the car) for letdown to pay fines. So pay the ticket right away & adjectives will be OK.
Another matter though - do you live in MI? Were you merely in NYC visiting? Or, do you live within for school, THAT can make a difference within your insurance. If you were just visit there, fine, if you live there or work within, problem. You may not have a problem as long as you don't have a claim but if your motor gets stolen in NYC or you enjoy an accident there, be prepared for a long investigation & possibly a denial of the claim for stuff misrepresentation (meaning if you had told the insurance where your coup¨¦ is kept, they wouldn't have written your policy, therefore the policy is negated & they will not pay your claim).

No, parking violation are mailed to you, and does not show up on DMV records, and thus, insurance can't revise about them.
