I just moved to Florida and my MI plate does not expire until May of 2008. I be wondering if MI will reimburse or buy back the plate/tags?
Answers: I moved to Florida give or take a few 4 years ago. When I had to carry Florida tags they pro rate my Florida tags so that I did not enjoy to pay for a full year. Call your local import tax collectors office for details. There are a few fees that will run over $100 to take your car registered for the first time within Florida. Most of these fees are a one time fee.
I wouldn't count on it I live contained by Michigan and you know Granholm is a penny pinching whatever so there's no extra money anywhere. You could try but I wouldn't hold my breath. I would keep hold of the plate as a memory but that's just me. Good luck
