Will they total my saloon?

my husband hit a deer right after thanksgiving in our hot (to us) ford escape it is a 2002 it did quite a bit of destroy to body and engine, my ins co is asking for the bill of sale are they going to total it? my ins co wont let somebody know me until they get the bill of public sale just wondering what u guys thought

well I do hold GAP insurance in satchel they do total it and dont give me the price we rewarded. kbb say it is worth 12,000 - 10,000 we rewarded 9,000. The damage must be pretty extensive though if they are wanting a bill of public sale right? they never asked for one before when someone hit my matured car (99 mazda protege) and the damages on that be $3,000

they sent an appraiser out to look at the vehicle. I cant really tell if the chassis is bent i do know the radiator and the furnace coil?? or core(whatever is right by the radiator) are busted and the engine looks pushed back the intact front end is pushed backbone

Answers:    They will total the car if the dollar amount of the interfere with is 75% or more of the REPLACEMENT value of the motor. Your purchase price of the car should NOT be an issue, it is the replacement utility. You could have bought the vehicle from a friend that sold you the car cheep and could never be replaced for that amount.

They want a bill of public sale so that they can get a correct valuation on the vehicle before they negotiate a settlement near you.
