i have a 1001 honda nx, and it is within good condition, lone 5k miles, but it has a top speed of approaching 75, which wont be fast plenty to keep up next to my friends next year when we turn camping.

Answers: The engine is very similar to the XL/XR/CB 125/185/200 (and the unusual 230, but thats electric start only)
The 125 can be bored to 145cc using a modified CB750 piston (early model, 1969~78) or try to get hold of a 185/200 engine. Tuning parts for the above will work but in that are a couple of different camshaft bearing sizes. easiest entry to do is fit a decent exhaust system and a bigger carb (about 24~26mm,) I used to use disappeared carb from Suzuki GT250, had XL125 up to 90mph
None of the work is cheap unless you can do it yourself so I guess your friends will enjoy to go slower (if they are friends they will)
