Answers:    First stroke on the side of the carb with a wrench, small tack hammer, etc. Tap, not pound. If the float is just stuck, sometimes that's plenty to unstick it. Otherwise, there could be a bit of crud between the float plunger and its seat allowing gas to keep hold of flowing. If the tapping doesn't work, you stipulation to remove the float bowl. My old 750 Honda have a wire that snapped within place to hold the bowl on, if yours is like that, it's a snap. There's a pin that hinge the floats to the carb body, push it out and remove the floats. Be careful to not lose the little narrowed needle that will come out next to them. Then check for crud in the plunger jet or see it the lessened needle have a groove worn in it. If so, it's time to replace it.
