i plan to have my scooter crank defence sand plasted clean. The powder coat is crumbling off. Can anybody please suggest a more durable coating. If I polish it is in that a laquer of some type

Answers: You sand blasted aluminum? You're screwed. And not in a nice method.
You can sand blast bike cases but you have to be enormously careful to find all the sand out because any sand moved out in nook and crannies will ruin the motor, you can polish the cases then acquire them powder coated clear. Which will hold up well.
