I have a raptor and at one point i go mud riding on it and mud caked the motor pretty good and very soon it is pretty much baked on. how do you get the baked on mud and that dingy colored look stale of the motor and engines head. I've tried different degreasers but they dont work to okay. I've been told to use an sharp but i dont feel close to getting my plastics or my stator cover ruined. Any suggestions??
Answers: I can't offer any more info than the first guy for getting it past its sell-by date, except maybe using a sand blaster. However, I own a number of dirtbiking friends who used to ride mixed enduro events. They used to spray their engines with WD-40 until that time the race, which they claimed made cleaning the mud bad much easier, give it a try .
I used a high-end power washer, you could also try an hardened handsoap designed to remove gunk, barring all that I'd clutch an extremely stiff brush to it. and if all that doesn't work, try sandpaper.
(most of these'll ruin anything shiny surfaces you got, but it's better than acid)
