Back pedals keep locking and skidding on pit bike wen shifting down gears. wht am i doing rong?

you have to balance revs and engine speed to stop the backside locking up, when shifting up reduce revs and when shifting down increase revs, its all in the region of balance, it'll come to you

You are not letting the bike slow down enough. I know, I have a 1972 Honda CT-90 which is the bike and engine your pit bike be copied from.

You have to let it stir down to idle before downshifting, next you will be ok. Don't worry, you will be in a well brought-up gear to pick right up again even when you shift like I described.

Even with a instruction book clutch, you are downshifting too early, and letting out the clutch too fast, and your cylinder and come first will fit right on my CT-90, not that I need it, but if I did, I would use that cylinder and head, it's made wearing clothes.

Edit: Just googled the stomp, and it is a total Honda copy engine, enjoy your finely made copy.
its because when you shift down in gears your rpms are too large and its an automatic clutch so that causes it to lock and skid till your going slow enough to be surrounded by that gear. Like when your going in good within third and put it in second. Thats not the best for your bike either so slow down past u shift down and it wont do that.

Answers:    I think everyone nailed it, but I'll affix a little. Along with using the brakes to bring down your speed up to that time shifting, don't drop the clutch on a downshift. Instead, use it just like you would on a launch, take the edge off it out and feel the motor/traction relationship changing. Also memo that your 4-stoke produces alot more "engine braking" then a 2-stroke. This is the compression literally working against the piston and the rest of the drivetrain when off throttle. Technically, this is whats cause your back wheel to lose traction. By reducing your speed up to that time shifting, and using your clutch to minimize the engine braking effect getting to your rear wheel, you will completely stamp out this problem. Have fun!

you are going down the gearbox to quickly do it from 5th to 4th a nd so onand slow down that way will stop the tiller locking just dont do it quickly see a lot of damage to gear bo9xes and thats the primary motive
