i have a CR 85 right now and its means of access to small.MY dad has a 1994 KX 125 and we were thinking of fixing that becuase it seized up and dosent run.It have alot of aftermarket parts on it. Is it worth it to buy a $2000 CR 125 becuase i like hondas or do i fix the KX?
You didn't mention the year model of the CR. If it is a lot newer it might be a better way to jump, but that depends on what you want out of it. If you race, a '94 is going to be way at the rear on technology, but if you are just riding for fun the KX would be fine providing it doesn't cost too much to repair. A bike that old will necessitate more than a top end unless you guys have lubed and replaced bearing and that sort of thing the whole time you've have it.

sell the kx. or help yourself to all the aftermarket items off of it and vend them. and put all stock part bak on and put on the market it.
its probably worth it but it is opening cheaper to just fix the kx plus i think a kx would be alot better than the cr because in attendance tuff but hondas are more available.

Answers: what year model is the CR 125? if it's a much newer bike, it will have much newer technology (lighter frame, better brakes and suspension, more HP, more availability of parts, plastics, cool BLING parts, etc.) and what condition is it contained by?
if the KX125 merely needs a top end and possible replating of the cylinder (if in that is any damage from when it seized up?) that would be much less expensive to fix it up than to buy the CR...
again, depends on the year of the CR and it's condition ... as almost any used bike might stipulation stuff done to it too unless already taken care of very just now.

cr's are great but a couple hundred bucks to fix and ride the kx isnt bad assuming your dad would just paw it over. You didn't mention the year model of the CR. If the CR 125 is only afew years old, that's a virtuous buy. It's risky to alot'ta money in a really old bike.its probably worth it but it is opening cheaper to just fix the kx plus i think a kx would be alot better than the cr because in attendance tuff but hondas are more available.
