Custom motorcycle helmet artisans?

I am thinking of having a motorcycle helmet made and I am going to probably requirement help finding someone to fabricate it. I want to get a DOT (Dept. Of Transportation) approved helmet that on the inside is padded, comfortable and so on, but the outside will look similar to the evil villain Kroenen from Hellboy, which you can see here: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/chi...

Need help finding the idyllic artisan. I've contacted numerous f/x artists but none of them have experience within doing real helmets (i.e. their stuff would look great, but wouldn't protect).

What is the blue book price for...

Answers:    How just about this idea? Get a clad fabricator, and build over and existing helmet? Would be cheaper, and SAFER than trying to fabricate one yourself I think...

They enjoy people that mold onto existing helmets, and put spikes, mohawks, etc... I'm sure you could gain someone to mold/fabricate everything you want, and if it's over and existing helmet that already meets DOT specs, no worries if your friend borrows it, and crashes... (i.e.: you enjoy no liability).

Just seems safer to me, to do it that instrument...

Do sport bike riders and metric riders...

You won't have much trouble making a helmet that meet DOT standards. The Dot allows a manufacturer to put the DOT sticker on a helmet as long as the businesswoman believes the helmet will pass the required safekeeping tests. So you could be paid a helmet out of cardboard, say "I believe" and slap on the sticker. This have stood up in court tons times and has be used to show the folly of helmet laws by biker's rights activist. Lecavcu- I never said there be no test. And I'm sure some companies truly test their helmets. But it is not a requirement to slap a DOT sticker on a helmet. Only the "belief" that the helmet will go past. The bottom line is neither the manufacturer or the DOT want to say they "Certify" a helmet because every time someone dies because they be wearing a helmet they would be held liable.
