Do mopeds use (CVT) I am looking for a small unit for a gocart i am building will a moped use one ?
I seem to remember Honda mopeds using a form of CVT.
They advertised it as a two speed and it be capable of reaching 40 MPH.
The final drive consisted of a belt-driven variable pulley that would spread apart as pedals speed increased causing the belt to drop farther down inside the V causing a smaller final drive pulley diameter and as a consequence higher ground speed.
I chew over they use a centrifugal clutch.
Answers: the newer mopeds use a CVT transmission. The elder ones use a centrifuagal clutch. Either could be used for a go cart.
