I'm on the verge of crossing over? should I? did you? why did you? what did you not like give or take a few your old 2 stroke? Do you miss the rocket ship acceleration of the 2 stroke or does your new 450f provide that too.?
A 2 Stroke have twice (usually) the power of a comparable 4stroke.
I switched as I had just gotten into girls and the steam of 2stroke smoke was putting them off. Not one would get hold of on the pillion..( boy I must have smelled bad)
However a week after swapping to a 4 stroke and replacing my oil soaked clothes, you couldn't hold them off the back.
I missed it so much that presently settled in a long term relationship I even bought myself a 50cc scooter.
Believe me it is quicker faster and more supple than the 125 4 stroke that I bought my daughter. and she's nearly a third of my weight.
it out accelerates most of the 4 wheel competition from the lights and I have so much pleasure.. And at least NOW next to the low sulphur oils and synthetic lubricants I only hold a "hint" of eau de 2stroke.
Now All i need to do is convince the wife that there have to be room for either a Suzuki X7 or a YAM RD350LC.
I hate 2 smokes. Why, I guess I don't resembling annoying people to the point where they close down adjectives the trails, yes I had one. Sure a 2-stroke is faster than a comparable thumper. Who cares, I would a bit ride a slow bike fast than ride a fast bike slow.

Answers: What you gain is (better) engine braking and smaller quantity gear changing, what you lose is the acceleration and the gorgeous smell. I would have preferred to stick near 2 strokes if a decent 500 was close by, maybe direct injection will make that possible surrounded by the future.

I have 2 two strokers and a four stroke , a250 suzuki x7 and a kawasaki 500 h1 which is extremely prompt of the mark but handles similar to a bag of spanners, my four stroke is a honda hornet 600 ,slow compared to alot of bikes but plenty fast ample for me and handles superbly ,it depends on what mood i am in as to which bike i use. if you catch rid of two stroker you will definately miss .hard choice!go 4, i've raced my in one piece life, i fyour on a 2 stroke you willl not win against a 4
