I live in kind of a gala house, and although the roommate that was causing problems isn't allowed to own people over any longer, I still worry just about my bike constantly, espically when I park it in a public place (school, restraunt, even work).
It's got suitable frame sliders and handlebar ends so if it gets knocked over it probably won't do too much twist (which certainly doesn't make it ok), I'm more worried around someone trying to break off my steering lock and starting the engine.
What aftermarkets can I get to form me feel safer, or am I just person paranoid?
An alarm does me no good because I'm normally parked fairly a way from my bike, and at home I can alwas hear it start anyhow.
I was thinking give or take a few some sort of kill switch, but it seems inconvient, and expensive.

Best bet would be to newly use a mixture of the ones listed. Put on a lock and pull the largest fuse, Lock the fork and pull the plug wires off the plugs. If someone desires it, they'll want it quickly and any deterant will slow them up and make them fidgety. Also get in the way of shutting off the gas petcock if you have one. If they do ride bad they won't go far and will most likely nouns and just leave the bike, not even thinking.

walk to walmart and by some bike locks ! Get a cable with a lock on it that is steel and you can wrap it around the backside tire and up over the seat so you don't forget its on.
Also there are Wheel locks but its dodgy as it can damage your bike if you forget its on and you take past its sell-by date. It locks on the wheel so I don't like those.
The best deterrent to larceny in my opinion is cargo. For example a zx10 or Suzuki Katana weigh about 500lbs so they are harder to steal than say a Ninja 600 at 340 lbs approx or a ninja 250 at 300+ lbs.

You could put your own concealed ignition kill switch on for 75 cents. Simply bridge any ignition wire beside a hidden switch from radio shack or auto zone.

But I'm a hindmost to the basics kind of guy, a 1" cable locked to a tree or pole is pretty damn protected.

well first off, you can procure an alarm that also has a pager you keep hold of with you to tell you when someone is messing near your bike. Second, if they want it bad enough, they will achieve it. All the locks and kill switches in the world, won't stop em if they want it discouraging enough. Heck, 4 guys can pick one up and set it in a trailer and drive past its sell-by date. You need a good loud audible alarm to attract attention if it is messed near. Gte a good brake caliper lock for the front wheel, but brand name sure you get one that has a bright colored lanyard that go up to your hand grip so you don't forget it is locked on and hurt yourself or the bike by trying to drive away with it on. You can buy some angelic quality locks and chains, but you are not always parked by something nontoxic to lock it too. Trust me, I ride $25,000.00 Harley's. I know what I'm talking about. All you can do is cut the probability, and make it as difficult as possible. My alarm, in codicil to being audible, setting off my bleeper, will also auto arm when I am 10 feet away and if it is messed with, it kill all electrical power to the bike.Good luck
