I am look seriously for a motor cycle here in the atlanta nouns. I have search serveral locations and yet I am still stumped on which bike I should purchase. I own riden small mini bike years ago 150-250 very use to the cluch, throtle, gear change( standard 1 down 4 up) My main problem I that I am looking at larger bikes. I am 5 10 192-200lbs. I figure a 750 would be a good size bike. I want to look appropriate as well as be comfortable. By motto look good I stingy, I don want to look like a grown man on a kids bicylcle. I hope you confine my meaning. Looking at a 750 honda VT 2006-2007 I be wondering if I was to big, high, long ect... for the bike? I am not looking for massive power yet I want some speed. What would be a devout size bike for a man like myself that have previous exposure to cycles/mini bikes?? Oh I am 38yrs old
Can you give to your question what style you want? Like a low cruiser style, or a sportbike, or only a standard all around bike? What do you intend on doing near it, commuting, or long distance trips or something besides those?
The Honda 750 Aero is a pretty hefty bike for a 750 and you should not look "wierd" on that bike. My solely concern is that you might outgrow the power pretty rapidly. So, what I would ask you to consider is look for a angelic used Shadow 750 Aero. Not only will you collect some $$$, you will not take a hiding a year from now when you are primed to trade up. There are some great low-mileage used Aeros on eBay with apt savings over a different bike.
The VTX 1300 is probably the next logical step. But it is not a desperate idea to start out on the 750 until you capture re-aquanited with riding. You indicate that you own not ridden in a few years, so I would HIGHLY recommend enrol in an MSF rider course. They enjoy both beginning and experienced rider classes and they are okay worth the time and money.
