Good motorbike for winter commuting?

I have a Kawasaki EN500 contained by pristine condition and don't want to ruin it so what could I ride to work on in winter?
After a cheapish bike (under a grand) that won't mind a bit of precipitation and salt too much!

BTW I similar to dual purpose bikes!

Is it knotty to ride a motorcycle??

Answers:    Man do some people ever preach on here, they bviously ponder that you are not smart enough to product your decison about what to do. They should become policticians.

The bottom procession is that for the budget you have any bike you can receive will do really. However there is no wound in looking for something specific. I used to ride an frail 350 Jawa that I picked up for 40 quid, throughout the winter and it never missed a beast for oodles a year. I suspect though you may not want to do that if you are at all statue concious. There is no point in getting anything too powerful as you will not use it within the crap weather, so take a look at an behind the times 4 stroke jap machine similar to a Honda XL250, Suzuki DR400 or something like that. They are elderly though but go for ever. Something close to a Suxuki GS500, Kawa KLE500, Honda CB500 or so on would also be suitable.

However what ever you buy win yourself some Scottoiler FS365 which is a great protector against all the winter crap and if used properly will hold the corrosion at bay on adjectives your bike.

I enjoy a 2001 Honda cr250 and...

what about a kamasutra ...i approaching dual purpose rides .. lol and well they dont partly keep you heat up in the winter,, tremendously hot.. x
