What manufacturer offers cheap but pious motorcycles? I need something that is functional (comfertable, realiable, not a sports bike) and not something that looks "cool". I be thinking about going japanese.

Kawasaki or Yamaha. Kawasaki probably have the best bikes for cheap prices especially for used models. It is not they they are poor vehicles, they are very excellent ones, but they are inexpensive contained by comparison to others.

Most reliable Jap bike is Honda. Go to the dealer near you and ask lots of question. And check seating positions, etc.Good Luck.
