started it next to my shorts on and felt the heavens hit my leg . a pin whole but solely bigger.do i need any special tools to remove adjectives that i have to, to replace gaskets. how apt of a mech. do i have to be. i dislike paying for just nuts and bolts job.to just replace is different to fixing. gratefulness
Ride On is giving you good guidance,make sure it is the commander gasket before you jump further. I would definetly buy a shop manual.Buy it from the Harley shop,they cost somewhat more(about $60) but are much better manuals.A organizer gasket is an easy profession and a good place for you to start research about your bike. I catch a lot of contentment by doing my own wrenching and if something goes wrong I know what to do.

I had a 1983, immediately my brother has it. I never have to do this. I did have a shop instruction manual. I think the pave the way just unbolt. The push rods come up from the crank shield so there not an iota chains or other things to undo. May not even obligation to loosen the push rods if you can turn the engine to a point the rods let adjectives valves close and not own pressure on them.
I guessing it on the back jug/cylinder?
Newer models from mine may diverge.
Answers: You'll need adjectives the top end gaskets, rocker box, leader and base gaskets.
You're supposed to do the dais gasket whenever you loosen the bolts which means you'll involve a ring compressor, sometimes one can pull the cranium with out disturbing the stand gasket ,but you may not know until the bike is back together.
You'll want a torque wrench and the torque pattern for the head and specs. for the rocker boxes.
You'll also need a can of copper gasket spray.
Let me ask you this? Is it leak oil at the organizer?? or did you just quality hot air??
If you merely felt nouns, check your exhaust gaskets before doing your boss.
