Hi Im looking in to buying a quad but i am learning and dont want anything to small or to roomy have been looking into the Rapter 250 have any one got any advise to help out make life somewhat less confusing
i have an ltz250 which is semi automatic (no clutch) its real glib and not to powerful or big has anything needed to start learning i would presume which i am still learning i still stall it or leave the brake on(ive single "fell" off once within 4 years) but i hold been wanting a raptor350 which im not goin to get but i will capture my dads which im learning how to use with clutch
250 is to big near no experience, start smaller, they're just as much fun, rule of thumb you should weigh 200 with out experience for a 250,near expireince then weight isn't that big of a factor.
Yamaha
Polaris is cast-offs and other quad owners will make fun of you for owning one.
any of the 4 major Japanese brands are recommended, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Kawasaki

Answers: Start by always wearing a protective helmet, gloves and boots, it's a accurate idea to cover your other bits as well! The steering can appear a little heavier than a bike and on a hot day I've see many get blisters on their hand within minutes. For your first ride you may wish to restrict the throttle for a moment, it's a simple screw on the lever assembly. Please try to keep your feet on the footrests or you'll be expected to run over your foot with the back reins, that smarts!
Take some time with the instruction book and learn where on earth all the controls are as many newly freeze when the going gets tough, this is known as Quad bike frontage!
Start on level ground and practise slow wide turns first.
Slopes and adverse cambers require the rider to tuning their position and put some work in to avoid falls, that comes later.
Quads are super fun but require much more rider input than one may first judge as countless You tube/ home videos show
Hope this helps a bit, Cheers!

ok a raotir 250 self desighned for kids so its not too big. Where protective gear and never out ride your limits. If your older i would probably dance with the raptor 350 its still small but once you learn to ride it will still own decent power to do things. Blasters are also good to revise on and extremely cheap.i have an ltz250 which is semi automatic (no clutch) its real glib and not to powerful or big has anything needed to start learning i would presume which i am still learning i still stall it or leave the brake on(ive single "fell" off once within 4 years) but i hold been wanting a raptor350 which im not goin to get but i will capture my dads which im learning how to use with clutch
