what ways are there to restrict the power on a kx 65? I hold brought my son a kx 65 for christmas and was wondering if in that was any path to restrict the power as he is only used to ridng a honda qr 50 and its a bit of a step up,im sure he will acquire on fine with it but for the first month i would close to to restrict it just for safekeeping.

Answers: Seriously, dad, it's not that much of a step up. Yeah it may knock him back by surprise the first time he turns the throttle, but endow with him an afternoon with it and he'll be of late fine.
If you feel that you MUST put a power restriction on it, and you want to do it right, you can construct a restrictor plate out of tinny sheet aluminum and place it between the carburetor and engine intake. Or it may be easier to play with the mixture and acquire it running rich on the idle circuit--though that's fraught next to danger. But it will be much safer within the long run if you let him own all 15 extra CCs at once. It's not close to you're giving him a 250.
